Summary

This conference is for everyone who is interested improving Early Learning and Childcare experiences and those interested in developing a career in Childcare.

We will discuss ways to develop an increasingly creative, agile and inspiring early years workforce, that reflects the communities we serve, and which delivers quality services and innovative learning experiences for the early years.

A variety of inspirational keynote speakers, interactive workshops, discussions, and an informative exhibition of relevant stall holders will appeal to:

  • College lecturers
  • Managers and Practitioners in Early Years Educational and Care settings
  • Students engaged in Early Years Courses
  • People from all walks of life who are considering a career in this area, this includes men, people from all ethnic groups, and people changing career
  • Policy makers, careers advisors, and others involved in developing qualifications in this area.


The learning from this conference will enable us to work towards the National Performance Framework Outcomes in both Education and Children http://nationalperformance.gov.scot/

  • Lead thinking on ways forward in early years education such as developing meaningful opportunities for learning outdoors in the natural environment; appropriate physical activities; generating an interest in various scientific areas; an awareness of health and wellbeing.
  • Create opportunities for you to network and discuss important areas with others throughout the day, so enabling you to influence the early years educational and care landscape.
  • Share practices in attracting and retaining a diverse and inclusive workforce in this area that includes currently under-represented groups.
