Summary

The Scottish Learning Technology Network brings together educators who share a passion for technology-enhanced, learning, teaching and assessment practice. Our meeting features short presentations from around the education community, including schools, colleges, universities and training providers.
Basically then, anyone and everyone (if you have an interest and/or something to share). It’s a community and you’re all invited.
We have 3 presentations lined up, but do have free slots if you would like to present. Each slot lasts for about 20 minutes (give or take); it’s a pretty relaxed, informal atmosphere. Run through some slides, give us a demo, or just share a story with us.

The 3 we have so far are:

  • Digital Futures – Robin and the team from North East Scotland College have an ambitious 3-year plan to develop the digital confidence and capabilities of college staff.
  • Teaching Generation Z – I’ve been attending school TeachMeets and been impressed by edtech advances in primary and high schools by teachers and pupils. Malcolm Wilson from Falkirk Council will be coming along to share what he knows.
  • Over to You – Okay, so this is basically me taking advantage of the fact that I have smart, experienced people in the room. We have developed some teaching resources for colleges, but need to make it possible for academics to access and contribute to the content. I’ll share our current solution so you to tell me where we’re going wrong.

We’re delighted that Forth Valley College have agreed to host this meeting at their beautiful Stirling campus. I’ve heard their coffee is pretty wonderful too.

It’s an excellent opportunity to meet with colleagues, learn new things and share your own stories of success. Looking forward to seeing you there!
