Summary

Our library services and workers are under pressure to ensure we provide the best service to all of our students, staff and visitors. Recent reports have suggested that although reading impacts positively on people's mental health, conversely only 13% of Britons live with high levels of positive mental health. Libraries provide invaluable support for students and their learning and our library services and workers work diligently to ensure they provide the best service to all of our students, staff and visitors.

This webinar brings together two speakers from university and public libraries to discuss how their organisation’s have supported employees to provide great service to their users and, specifically, how to ensure our front line service teams have the tools and support they need to understand the wide range of challenges facing us all.

Who should attend

Any library and/or other college support staff working with college students.

Aims

The webinar aims to:
  • To raise awareness of mental health issues and their impact on learning
  • To increase front line service teams’ confidence in providing effective support for college-based learners.
