WEBINAR: Using Enabling Technology with STEM Students with Learning Differences and Disabilities

Tuesday 09 May 2017

1300-1330 (The room will be open to join 30 minutes prior to the start of the Webinar)

Summary

Science, technology, engineering and maths present a distinct set of accessibility challenges. Learning can span from practical sessions in the field, workplace or lab to theoretical sessions full of mathematical notation and terminology.

In this session, we will explore the barriers faced by students with learning differences and disabilities in STEM disciplines and consider how technologies can help. We will look at technology support for reading, writing and organisation in maths and science learning as well as mobile apps and technologies to assist lab, field and workplace learning.

Who should attend

Anyone interested in exploring different ways that technology can help remove barriers for learners involved with STEM subjects.

Aims

By the end of this webinar participants will have:

  • Have a better understanding of accessibility barriers that present challenges for learners in STEM subjects

  • Explored a range of technology solutions.
