What to Expect from the College Board Induction Training 2019/20 - Dundee and Angus College

Summary

Board members will hear from key stakeholders including the Scottish Funding Council, Education Scotland, National Union of Students and sparqs and be introduced to college governance, it’s role as an anchor to support regional economic growth and opportunity for all through the delivery of high quality learning and teaching.

The day will also focus on building a high performing team within the board, managing conflicts of interest, legal duties and responsibilities, and how to be an effective board member.  

The induction will finish off with information on the role of Colleges Scotland and CDN in supporting good governance in the sector and how board members can access support, development and training.


Who should attend

The Board Member Induction Workshops are specifically designed for new board members to develop their understanding of governance within the college sector and the roles and responsibilities of a board member.
