What to Expect from the Meeting Public Sector Web Accessibility Regulations: Next Steps

 In partnership with:

Recent changes to web accessibility legislation for public sector bodies have significant implications for colleges and universities. This half-day workshop will enable you to assess where you are now and how to prioritise what your next steps should be.

Whether you are new to accessibility, or have made a start with a plan to meet the regulations, this workshop will be a supportive, solution-focused space. You’ll also have the opportunity to learn from the experiences of others in the sector and to share your ambitions or concerns. On completing this workshop, you will have:
  • An understanding of how compliance with accessibility regulations will be monitored
  • Resources to help you identify problems and successes
  • Access to resources to avoid duplicating work
  • Knowledge of where to find support and training
  • A personalised set of priorities to take away

We have teamed up with Jisc’s accessibility specialist, Kellie Mote (a familiar name to the Scottish sector), to deliver this workshop and appreciate the opportunity to work with Jisc to raise awareness around this important area.

Who should attend

Meeting accessibility regulations requires a collaborative approach so this workshop will be relevant to all with an involvement in digital content. As a guide, we anticipate that attendees will be drawn from areas including:
  • Senior and middle management
  • Learning technology
  • Marketing, digital comms and website design
  • Libraries and learning resources
  • Curriculum/academic leadership
  • Instructional designers and VLE managers

This session aims to:
  • introduce you to the Public Sector Web Accessibility Regulations
  • share guidance on how to meet the requirements by the September 2020 deadline.
