Hybrid Delivery - Best of Both Worlds
Kenji Lamb, College Development Network
Hybrid delivery describes a situation where some of your students are in the class with you, while others are joining remotely. I've never taught like that, but I have been in many meetings where those joining online have been the 'poor cousins' in any interaction. It's definitely easier to have everyone online or in the class.
Further restrictions and/or the need to self-isolate means that hybrid delivery might be a very real option for many. I've spent a little time looking at some of the advice offered around this approach to learning and teaching and will share what I've found.

Promoting Well-being in Your Virtual Learning Environment
Sam Taylor & Jasmin Hodge, Catalyst
It's been just over a year since Covid-19 forced many institutions to change their delivery methods with regards to formal education and training. These series of multiple lockdowns have thrown staff and students into emergency remote teaching situations that meant replicating hours of face-to-face sessions into line online webinars.
In this presentation, Sam and Jasmin will present feedback gathered through conversations with stakeholders from UK and Irish institutions on how they have dealt with the shift to online learning, including advice on course and activity design, as well as ideas on what you can do to your Virtual Learning Environment to help all users cope with the new way of teaching and learning.
